Rambling and Books

Here I am again, early in the morning and I'm attempting to write a blog post before 8am.

I had full intentions of writing about the prompt for today, Something Difficult About My Slot in Life and How I Plan to Overcome It. But i just couldn't bring myself to do it. I had a crazy day yesterday, and there is a similar topic later this month so I guess I'm covered for that.

I can't decide what I want to do after May is over. I know I won't blog everyday because I don't really like the Idea of blogging on the weekend. However, would I be able to handle five posts a week without someone telling me what to write? I don't know. I have a few ideas, but not sure if I can pull it off. What do you all think?

In the meantime, since I need a topic other than my ramblings today, I'm going to give you a book haul! At least for the first half of May.

First up is Dead Ever After by Charlaine Harris.

It is the final book in the Sookie Stackhouse series, and lets just say "finally!" I've already read it, and I'm glad it's done.

Next is The Passing Bells by Phillip Rock.

I saw this at Barnes and Noble a few weeks ago and it intrigued me. They advertise it for fans of Downton Abby. I love Downton Abby! (But don't watch the whole third season in one day.... It's really bad for your emotional health. #lifelessonsfromemmy.) However, these books were published long before the TV show started, so it's not something that is just jumping on the bandwagon. But it is the same time period and has the similar idea of having a storyline with the family of the house as well as the servants and WWI, so I'm pretty excited to read it.

Then we have Let the Sky Fall by Sharon Messenger.

I saw this book reviewed by a YouTuber that I watch regularly and she seemed to really like it. Then they had it a millionty percent off on Amazon, so I nabbed it for my Kindle.

Lastly, I bought Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers.

This is probably the one I'm the most excited about. It was also reviewed by the YouTuber that I watched and she LOVED it! Is about a girl in the 1400's who escapes from an abusive arranged marriage and finds safety in a convent. However, it's not a convent you would think of. They worship "the gods of old" and she becomes an assassin for Death. It's the first of a trilogy I believe and I should be getting it delivered from Amazon today. I'm super excited.

Other books I have read/am currently reading/plan to read this month:

Already read- Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell and How to be Remarkable by Collin Wright.

Currently Reading- The Silver Linnings Playbook by Matthew Quick, and Storm of Swords by George RR Martin (third in The Game of Thrones).

Plan to Read - Blood Bound by Patricia Briggs (second in Mercy Thompson series) and Bleeding Violet by Dia Reeves.

So there you have it, my book haul, books I've read, and books I plan to read in May.

At least thus far.

I'm considering doing more book hauls, to be read pile, and book review posts once May is over. What do you think?
