Ugh... It's Monday

Do you ever feel like some Mondays are more "Monday-esque" than others. I feel like this has been happening more often now that The Lizzie Bennett Diaries are over. Which is a great reflection of my life right there guys. A YouTube series is what determines how my day will go.

However, today I feel is more of a Monday than others. I woke up randomly in the middle of the night and couldn't go back to sleep. I got up earlier than usual and was STILL late for leading chapel at the high school. I then forgot my keys in the high school gym and one of the teachers had to run out to the parking lot to give them to me. When I got back to the office I had to put together ANOTHER chapel at the last minute for the pre-school kids. Also, everyone just seems to be having a "case of the Mondays" in our office.

Everything is turning out fine, and it will pass as all Mondays do.

How To Land a Part in Romeo and Juliet

Monday night, I kind of squealed all over Facebook and Twitter that I had gotten the part of the nurse in the play Romeo and Juliet for a local community theatre production.

YAY!!!!!!!

Since I'm into lists this week, I'll share with you the story of how this came about in the form of a very scientific and thought of process in 10 easy steps.

Why Bloggers Should Keep A Journal

Friday night I didn't have a whole lot going on. Which... is pretty typical for me. So I perused my phone to see if there was anything remotely interesting I could do.

Silver Linings Playbook was back at my local theatre.

Oh Cape Girardeau, you're so silly. We had the movie here for FOREVER and it's coming out on DVD next week. What are you doing?

Or maybe silly me since I never got off my rear to go see it.

Hi New Friends!

Happy Friday everyone!

I don't know about you, but I'm super excited that it's Friday. Last weekend I was on a retreat with a kazillion Jr. Highers, and coming back to work and sitting in the office was a drag. So the weekend is a welcome change of pace. A friend of mine might be visiting and I have an audition for a play tomorrow! (Speaking of... I need to track down my old copy of Romeo and Juliet so I can study...)

Anyways. Now for something completely different.

I'm sponsoring the blog The Life of Bon this month! (Commence happy dance and cheering.) I find it pretty exciting because she's one of those "cool" bloggers. You know, blog every day, has more than three digits in her follower count, and is generally awesome in every way. She's a high school English teacher - which is awesome because we can swap teenager stories and talk abotu books. She also hosts a book club every month. This month we're reading The Great Gatsby if you want to join us.

Anyways.

When Our Cheese is Falling off our Cracker

While the country was being shocked by the bombings in Boston yesterday... I was catching up on news that was a bit older.

This past weekend I was on a retreat with the jr. high youth, so I had a lot of life catching up to do on Monday.

As I scrolled through the internets, I found out that Brennan Manning died on Friday.

Brennan Manning is one of my all time favorite writers. When I was in college I read his book, The Ragamuffin Gospel, and it touched my soul. All of his writing has. Whenever I would put down one of his books, I knew the Holy Spirit was pulling me in.

If his books were a true reflection of who Manning was, he was truly a man of grace.

He understood what it was to be broken down, hurt, angry, depressed, battered, and beaten.

Or one of my favorite phrases of his "someone whose cheese is falling off their cracker."

Springtime Adventures

It feels as though spring has finally arrived here in Missouri. (In fact, I even hear storm warnings go off in the office. It must be spring! Ha ha.) So when a friend of mine came to visit, she and I took my dog Bandit out for a few adventures.

The Bushyhead Memorial at Trail of Tears. Some sort of princess I think is buried here?
Or actually, unofficial princess.

Honesty On A Monday

Mingle 240

Writing is hard.

As much as I love writing, keeping up with my blog, and creating stories, it's hard.I can't tell you how many times I sit down at the computer and stare at a blank screen for hours. Perfect scenes for stories will play out in my mind. The best blog post is waiting to be written. Then when I sit down to actually write it down, my mind goes blank.

I don't know if you've been able to tell or not, but I've been struggling with what to write on the blog lately. I know what I'm supposed to write. It's not that I don't have ideas. It's just... what I've been thinking about I just can't publish. At least not at the moment.

The struggles I've been having.

My doubts.

My fears.

My failures.

The debates I've been having in my mind.

I simply can't post them. At least not right now. It's hard to explain.

This Week

So... I've been a bit MIA this week. With Easter this past weekend and going to Chicago to help my sister shop for her wedding dress, I've been a bit busy. And tired.

Mostly tired.

And lazy.

However, I did make these two videos on my drive back down to Missouri on Tuesday. It's basically just a little recap of what I'll be doing in April. You can watch them below, or you can click these YouTube links to watch.

Later this week I (hopefully) will have actual blog posts about things I fail at, a late post about my favorite things in March, and wedding dress shopping with my sister.

Huzzah!
