This Blog is Emma Approved

This week is going to be/is stressful for me. There's a lot going on at work and it's basically been stressing me out. When it's all over I'll explain... but for the time being just keep me in your prayers.

So when I saw that Emma Approved premiered on YouTube on Monday....

MY DAY GOT SO MUCH BETTER!

I saw Legally Blonde the musical this weekend... so everything comes back to that show.

What is Emma Approved you ask?

Do you all remember when The Lizzie Bennett Diaries (YouTube's version of Pride and Prejudice) was on YouTube and it was amazing? Now they're doing Emma!!!!!

The moment I saw the link I shared it with one of my best friends and we watched ti at the same time and squealed like the crazy girls we are. I then fan-girled all over the internet. I might watch it over and over again.

At last... Mondays and Thursdays will be good again.
If you are a fan of Jane Austen, you HAVE to watch these videos. The Lizzie Bennett Diaries were phenomenal, and I have high hopes for Emma Approved.

If you aren't familiar with Jane Austen's books, this is the perfect way to get started! I know of a lot of people who had never read or seen Pride and Prejudice and the LBD were what got them hooked.

I'll embed the video in this blog post if you want to watch it. Or you can click this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aeeXkf8LZ_8

So... are you fan-girling just like I am? Did this news make your week SO MUCH BETTER THAN BEFORE? Were you a fan of The Lizzie Bennett Diaries? Will you watch Emma Approved? What did you think of the first episode?

Tell me all in the comments!

  1. To answer your questions: yes, yes, yes and yes! It's been a while since I read Emma and I remember having difficulties getting through the middle of the book but in general I liked it so I am so happy Emma Approved is finally here. I LOVED the LBD and the format is finally back!

    1. I definitely need to re-watch the episode because I was so excited I was just flailing about my office like a crazy person I wasn't able to pay attention to the details. So I'm going to watch it again and REALLY pay attention. But I'm just so excited!

  2. Rehashing my Twitter comments- I think it has promise, although it's hard to tell after one episode. Emma and Knightley seem to be well-cast. When I was thinking of what other books they could do a LBD-style series with, Emma came to mind, but Clueless had already done the Emma retelling. But I think this will work because as young adults instead of high schoolers, it's different enough that the storyline won't follow too closely. And I like how, appropriately, both LBD and Emma Approved are set in the tech world.

Was not a fan of Welcome to Sanditon, though. I thought it was super boring.

    1. It is really hard to tell after one episode. As I told Willie above, I need to re-watch it when I'm not fan-girling all over the place so I can really focus and pay attention to the details. And I agree with Welcome to Sanditon. It was a cute idea... but not very well done.

  5. I came to the Lizzie Bennet Diaries a bit late (like after Darcy was seen for the first time). But I ended up LOVING IT. I just watched the first episode of Emma Approved. I'm not sure what I think yet. That being said, I felt the same way about Lizzie.
