Questions and February is Coming - SUIT UP!

So... I was already tagged in the 11 Questions meme that's been floating around the blog-world lately. Then I was tagged again by Kayleigh! (I love feeling cool!) I won't do all of the "rules" again, but I will answer the questions Kayleigh posted. Which totally works since lately I've been lacking in ideas for the blog lately.

Also, remember that February is in 2 DAYS! Which means that I'll be needing a new Sponsor Swap Friend and next month's topic will be ready to go. February's topic is: How I See Love.

For more information about either of these check out the pages:

Kayleigh's Questions:

1. Why did you start your blog?

I really don't know what exactly prompted this particular blog. The thing is, writing has always been part of my life and I've been making up stories ever since I was a kid. When I left for college, the website Xanga was the "cool thing" to do and it was essentially blogging. So my friends and I were all addicted to that (until Facebook came along....), and it all sort of just evolved. I feel like if I didn't have a blog or some sort of writing happening in my life something would be missing.

2. What do you do at the end of a long day?

I love to come home and curl up and be cozy. Change into sweatpants and a t-shirt (and a hoodie if it's cold), make hot chocolate, and watch a favorite movie or TV show with my dog curled up next to me. A lot of times I'll end up Skyping with a good friend or family member or talk to them on the phone. A good novel is usually somewhere in the mix too.

3. Which season is your favorite and why?

I don't really have a favorite season - but I guess if I had to choose one it would be fall. But REAL fall. Not the "autumn" they have here in Missouri where it's like 80 outside until November. That's lame. Give me 50s and 60s with sunshine where I can wear my sweaters, sweatshirts, scarfs, and boots, but I can still walk around outside without my fingers and toes going numb.

4. Which fictional character do you want as a best friend and why?

Right now I'm on a How I Met Your Mother kick- and I really feel like I would love to have a friend like Barney. Life would never be boring, if I wanted to dress up and look nice (aka: SUIT UP!) he would high five me, and I would totally play laser tag with him even though I'm terrible at it. It would be LEGENDARY.

If not Barney, I would say Katie Weldon from the Christy Miller series. She's kinda like the Christian girl version of Barney, because when you hang out with her there's always an adventure. Also- I've been reading about Katie ever since I was 13 so it's like we're already friends.

5. Dessert island. Three items. List them.

First, we are making it clear that my dog Bandit is a WHO and not an item - therefore he doesn't count and he would be with me on the dessert island. I am also assuming the clothes on my back don't count either.

Item #1: Hopefully by the time I am on said dessert island I will have an iPad - and therefore I could communicate with the outside world AND have books on there, including a Bible.

Item #2: A journal. You have to keep track of all of those random thoughts somehow and there is nothing like PHYSICALLY WRITING (not typing).

Item #3: Some sort of musical instrument like a keyboard/piano (a piano would be hard to get on the island though), or a guitar, or something. I love music and being stranded on an island would give me a lot of time to practice and perfect playing that instrument. Especially all of the showtunes I want to learn!

6. If you could choose to live in a decade purely for fashion's sake, which decade would you choose?

I'm narrowing this down to 1900's to present day, since all decades throughout history is very overwhelming.

Also- I'm somewhat of a fan of fashion today, but since I get to wear that all the time that doesn't count. Especially with some of the 80's inspired styles with a modern twist. It's fun!

I'm going to go with the 1960's. When I Google Imaged fashion in the 1960s I saw a really big variety of styles. You have the Mad Men types, which is really classy, polished, put together, and still reminiscent of the 1950s. Then you have the go-go types which is funky and fun. You also have the hippie style coming in which is really relaxed and earthy. It's a fun mix to work with.

7. Which song makes you crank up the volume in your car?

There isn't just one, I tend to crank up the volume in my car quite often. But today "Don't Rain On My Parade" came on my iPod and I totally blasted it.

8. What is most important to you?

LOVE. In case you haven't noticed.... not like I haven't dedicated my blog to it or anything... ;)

9. If you could choose to have one dream in your life come true, which would it be?

That I could be close to all of my friends and family. Everyone is so spread out right now, and it makes me sad because I have to pick and choose who I see and when. It's not fun.

10. Which collection of yours is bigger, movies or books?

Books of course! My collection of movies would probably be a decent size (and it's not bad at all), but now that I have Netflix I don't buy movies all that often anymore.

11. If you could have dinner with someone alive or dead, who would that be?

I actually would love for a lot of my blogger friends to be all in one place and we could have dinner together. I want to see everyone's faces, hear their voices, and just all hang out. It would be really fun and I know I would hear some interesting stories! Makes me wish I was able to go to the 20sb summit - but that still wouldn't have all of my blog friends there!

    1. Who doesn't love Barney? I mean, really. I've only just started watching the show on Netflix and I'm in the middle of season 1 and I already LOVE Barney! I've seen a few other episodes here and there, but I'm actually watching the show all the way through. YAY!

  4. *Dessert* island? YUM! As opposed to a desert, as in sand, island. ;) LOL.
Why does no one ever say a boat and enough gas to get where you need to be and a map? :)

    1. Yeah, someone pointed that out to me earlier. ::facepalm:: You'd think I knew how to spell the two different words! And yeah, you also would think that when asked that question we would all say those things - but where's the fun in that? ;)
