Secretly... I'm A Readhead

Day 11: What Character Do You Feel You Are The Most Like?

The character I feel like I am the most like is Ginny Weasley. Which is why I didn't mention her in my post about my favorite female character.

While I may not have red hair, a gaggle of brothers, I haven't had a million boyfriends, and would probably die playing Quidditch, I think we are still a lot alike.

Ginny can hold her on while hanging out with the guys. A lot of my friends are guys, and while I'm not really a "tom boy" (and neither is Ginny by the way), I can still hold my own. At least from what I can tell.

Ginny doesn't give up on people easily, and neither do I. Even when Harry shows absolutely no interest in her at all, she never truly gives up on him. She is still his friend, and holds a special place in her heart for him. I try not to give up on people either. They mess up, make mistakes, and sometimes ignore me completely. But I still have hope for them, and having to "give up" on someone is really hard for me. I don't know if this is a good or bad thing, but that's how I am.

Wait... I think I just realized that's my problem with relationships.

This is also the quality my friends pointed out in both Ginny and me.

Crap.

Anyways.

Moving on.

Ginny kind of has a problem with idolizing people - especially when she's young. At ages 11 and 12 she is completely obsessed with Harry. At that age I was crazy about NSYNC and Justin Timberlake. If Justin went to my school - I probably would have behaved similarly to the way Ginny did around Harry.

These five guys were the wallpaper in my room at one point
Ginny and I both trust people easily. In Chamber of Secrets, she learns to trust Tom Riddle very easily. Unfortunately, this was a bad choice. But I know that I've trusted in people I really shouldn't have either. This can be a good thing too though. Because then we both also trust people we should.

Ginny can do some pretty awesome hexes! While I don't have magical powers or anything, I'm pretty decent at the insults and sarcastic comments. I feel as though Ginny is too. I don't know if this is a good thing or not - but it's a way that we are similar.

We are both somewhat in the middle of the popularity spectrum. Neither of us are part of the "uber cool crowd", but we aren't complete losers either. She's friends with the power trio, but not in the inner circle. (Well... she is but she isn't. They tend to leave her out a lot.) Yet, at the same time, she is friends with them and has her own place in social circles. I'm the same way. I was never really "unpopular", but not crazy cool in school either. Just in the middle.

People like to protect us. Ginny's family, and Harry, tend to be very protective of Ginny. It bugs her, but they do it out of their hearts. The same happens to me. People feel as though they need to protect me a lot (even though I can handle a lot more than they think!) , and it bugs me, but they do it because they really care.

Ginny isn't afraid to speak her mind. She thinks for herself and tells others. I've definitely learned how to do that too! On occasion it's gotten me into trouble, but I'm glad I can tell others what I'm thinking!

Also, we're both not-so-secretly in love with Harry Potter. ;-)

  1. Awwwwwwwwwwwww, Ginny!! I love Ginny, she's so awesome. Although personally, I think I'm far more like Hermione than Ginny. Which is probably why Ginny's my favourite female character over Hermione!
