Lets Go Camping!

Day 2: Your Favorite Movie

I thought I was going to say one of two movies - but when I really thought about it, I surprised myself. My favorite Harry Potter movie was actually...

I remember after the movie I didn't feel disappointed. Most of the movies - no matter how much I loved them, there was always something I missed from the book. This movie... not so much. They did such a great job with keeping to the book. Granted, that's the beauty of being able to do the one book in two movies. You have more room to keep in those little details. The 7th part of the Harry Potter series does a beautiful job in showing the heart of the story. Love, friendship, dedication, and standing up for what is right. The power trio is pushed to their limit - and almost fall apart. But in the end they come together and stand by each other. The scene at the Malfoy mansion and Dobby on the beach were done beautifully. I also LOVED the animation during the tale of the Three Brothers.

A lot of people feel as though the first part of Deathly Hallows is boring, since it's mainly Harry, Ron, and Hermione camping out in random parts of England. It's a lot more to do with emotions and what's going on in their heads vs. action. I get it.

But you have to remember - I have a lot of thoughts and enough emotion for five people in my pinky. So emotional movies that are all about what's going on in your head are right up my ally.

Favorite Quote from the movie

"Dobby has no master. Dobby is a free elf, and Dobby has come to save Harry Potter and his friends!"

The movies I thought I was going to claim as my favorites:

  3. Agreed! I loved that it was the closest to the book. They TOTALLY screwed up the sixth movie. I think that made the seventh one look even better in comparison.

  4. Yup, Deathly Hallows was definitely my favourite too. I kind of hated Half Blood Prince though - they messed it up SO much from what happened in the book *sad face*

My other favourite would probably be Philosopher's Stone, simply because they're all so cute and tiny! Plus, Richard Harris. He was a much better Dumbledore than Michael Gambon is...

  5. In Deathly Hallows Part 1, I loved the ending with "He who must not be named" and the Elder Wand. The true meaning of which you only understand if you have read the book.
