I Can Carry You

Why is it that the end of the month always comes so quickly? I feel like every single month I'm always surprised a new one is coming.

A couple of things before we go onto our "usual programming."

1) Pardon me all day today while I flail about due to today's Lizzie Bennett Diaries. Feel free to ignore those tweets and Facebook posts.

2) Today I joined BlogHer - and I'M SO CONFUSED. If anyone is on that site, add me (is that what you do?) and explain to me how it works. Thanks

3) I'm considering bringing back sponsor swaps and guest posts (maybe not a monthly theme though?). Thoughts?

With that in mind, here is my soundtrack for the month:

In case you didn't get the memo, I went to Disney World last week. The next day I watched four Disney princess movies in a row. Yup. "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes" from Cinderella.

I also went to Hogwarts last week. It was TOTALLY AWESOME. "Hedwig's Theme" from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's (Philosophers) Stone.

I get on kicks of listening to the same band/soundtrack over and over again. Right now it's Fun. This is the last song on their album Some Nights called "Out on the Town."

"Roxie" from the movie/musical Chicago. Cause you know... getting famous for killing your hubby is a thing.

"Light My Candle" from Rent. So, random fact. In college a bunch of us LOVED this movie and I remember one day sitting in chapel with my friend Craig, and our mutual friend Luke was lighting the candles for the service. I might have started singing this song under my breath making Craig laugh. We're horrible people.

The Glee cover of "Shake it Out" by Florence and the Machine. Why do I love Glee covers so much? I don't know, but I do.I love the harmonies in this version though.

"This Year" by the Mountain Goats. They played this song at the end of John and Hank Green's "Evening of Awesome" at Carnegie Hall and it's been in my head ever since. Good thing it's a good song.

This month's soundtrack is cut short though because most of the month I've been listening to the third Lord of the Rings book in my car, Return of the King. So here's one of my favorite clips from the movie.

  1. Isn't the LBD just amazing? The latest videos have been watched on repeat because they're just so good.

The Evening of Awesome was also incredible, and I too have been listening to a lot of The Mountain Goats' "This Year" as a result. "I'm going to make it through this year if it kills me" has basically become my anthem until I can find a new job.

  2. I've heard awesome things about LBD from so many people! I'll have to check it out. I agree with you about Glee covers too. I don't bother with the show anymore (and haven't in a while so I have no idea what's going on) but I did always like the songs they did. I loved what they did with Unpretty... Quinn's opening lines in that song are awesome despite her being a lackluster singer.

    1. Unpretty was one of my FAVORITE covers that they've done. So beautiful! And I still watch the show- I'm so addicted. LOL. I love what they've been doing with the characters who have graduated and how they've still incorporated their stories into the show. It's really cool! And go watch LBD! Maybe not all at once because you might burn out, but over a few days or so watch it. Ah! So much love.

  3. Hey! I just joined BlogHer too, and I'm completely confused! I found your blog in their blog directory, clicked and saw this post. So, I figured I'd drop you a line and let you know you're not the only one lost. :) My blog is pretty new, but I decided to join a few networks and Blogher was the first, so I'll be trying to figure it out as I go. I don't know how to add yet, but if you do, let me know and I'll add you!
