Where Did You Go?

It's only October 10 - and I'm already freaking out wondering where October went.

That's what happens when you have a job where you are always looking ahead, have the whole month planned out already, and getting ready to leave for a week. By the time I return from my Joplin and Chicago adventures - October will practically be over!

Oh October, where did you go? I don't even have my Halloween plans set in stone yet...

Not only in life am I busy - but I have a lot blog-wise going on in October too! Which is what this post is dedicated to.

So first off - I would like to introduce to you my sponsor of the month...

I saw on her blog last month that she was looking for sponsors, and I was considering sponsoring her because her rate was pretty inexpensive. Then I saw that she had an option for sponsor swapping. Which basically means that if I sponsor her, she'll sponsor me, and no one has to pay anything. I thought it was a pretty sweet deal, and I love promoting other people's blogs.  Also, Angie is awesome. We "met" through 20sb and chat through Twitter a lot. She's a fellow Harry Potter fan (YAY!) and announced today that she got her own blog domain.

I would love to do a sponsor swap for November as well. So if any of you are interested comment, email, Twitter, or Facebook me!

Hello, Love Woke Me Up This Morning readers! My name is Angie, I'm 22 and I live half an hour outta Salt Lake City, Utah with my beautiful wife and soul mate Jen, our fur babies - two kitties - Wedge and Mau and our feather baby - a cockatiel - Jango!

Lariats and Lavender is my personal blog about myself, my wife, our life together, our pets, my hobbies, my beliefs and so much more. I update daily and have quite a few weekly series such as Indie Challenge Tuesdays and Friday I'm In Love on Fridays!

Stop by and say hi! ^_^

Next... this month's Love Drop. Check it out.

Hey guys!  The Love Drop team is at it again! They just came back from the Boston area where they dropped $5,000 worth of appliances and gifts to a woman who recently got hit by a car and is recovering in a wheelchair, and THIS month they're trying to round up the love for precious newborn triplets!
We want to help Jeff and Becca (the parents) prepare to bring them home from the hospital, as all three were born very underweight and are currently in the Neonatal ICU (they're doing great though! And will be coming home soon). With four children already, adding a surprise batch of triplets is going to put considerable financial strain on the family, and that's where we come in!
Let's help give them everything they need to welcome the triplets home, including diapers, food, furniture, gift cards - any cool baby stuff you can think of. We're shooting for at least $3,000 in cash, plus gifts.
Want to help?  Here are three ways you can participate:
  1. Give $1.00 - This money will help go to their family, and every dollar counts!
  2. Give a gift card - Gift cards are extremely helpful. Places like Target, Wal-mart, restaurants, etc would be incredible. out.
  3. Donate baby stuff! - Specifically diapers, formula and clothes. Gift cards here are awesome too.  (Or maybe you have contacts in the baby world?)
You can reach the Love Drop team here anytime with questions: team (at) love drop (dot) us., or by checking them out at Thanks everyone! We'll let you know how it goes!

Also - next month is NATIONAL NOVEL WRITING MONTH!!!!!!! (AKA: NaNoWriMo) I am outrageously excited and I want it to be November NOW.

What's NaNoWriMo you ask?

Well... it's when a bunch of us crazy writer-types decide to write a 50,000 word novel in one month.

Yes... 50,000 words!

You can plan all you want before November, but no writing of the actual story until November 1st. It's a crazy, fun, intense, amazing month. This is my fourth year participating and will also hopefully be my fourth year succeeding.

Through November I'm going to be writing like a mad person and loving every moment of it. I'm not going to post parts of the story on the blog - but I will give you word count updates, favorite quotes, etc. But I'm not going to reveal anything about what I've been planning until November.

Since I will be writing so much for NaNoWriMo, on top of work and all of that, I probably won't have much time to write for the blog. I would love some guest bloggers though! If you are interested contact me and we'll chat.

Also - if you are part of NaNoWriMo add me as a friend: eehornburg
