Day 14: Team Voldemort or Team Harry?
Really? Is this question really necessary? Why in the world would I choose Voldemort- the most evil wizard ever who also happens to be racist and can be compared to Hitler, over my hero Harry Potter?
Seriously.
So with that - I have another guest post for you all!

When I was thinking of a topic to write about, I scanned Emmy’s page for any form of inspiration. I noticed the right column of the page, has a “What I like to talk about” section. The three items that were the “biggest”-“ the main things” were love, God, and books.
I was going to take a twist on this post and write about what I like to talk about, and I realized that I like talking about all of those things as well.
It’s not a surprise that “love” was one of the big words that Emmy talks about. After all, love is in her title, and it is what wakes her up in the morning.. I think that’s great.
After all, whatever attitude wakes you up in the morning is going to set the tone for your day. One theology professor I had in school put things this way:
When you wake up, your attitude is usually one of the following:
“Good morning, Lord!”
“GOOD LORD, IT’S MORNING.”
When we keep love the main thing, our attitude should be the former. Easier said than done, right?
When I was struggling with health problems, waking up was the hardest part of my day. I dreaded facing the nightmares that I knew were going to cross my path that day.
But then I realize I needed to put the “main thing” right in my focus every morning. I needed to let the Lord’s love wake me up every morning. I needed to be reminded of Psalm 143- “Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love…”
So I made sure it would be. Right above my head on my ceiling, I plastered Psalm 118:24. Love woke me up in the morning. The main thing saw me awake each day and saw me through the remainder of the day.
Emmy has us directed reader’s attention toward the main thing- Love, and God, and the book- The Bible.
I want to direct your attention to a quote I heard in a sermon:
“The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing.”
This blog keeps that in mind- the main thing of this blog is that the main thing is the main thing, and because of that I was honored to write a guest post.
When life brings you down roads of darkness, when hurts surround you and your heart is heavy, when it seems you only feel pain, when sickness gets the best of you, when you feel lost, when you don’t know where to go, when you have done something wrong and regret it, whenever you face any form of problem, remember this:
The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing.
As a friend of mine, author Patricia Polacco told me, “Keep your eye on the prize.”
The prize is Christ Jesus. As Hebrews 12:2 puts it so well, “Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith.”
Let us fix our eyes on the main thing, and keep it the main thing.
The main thing, love from God, wakes me up in the morning.
The main thing directs me to realize how surrounded by blessings I am.
When I keep the main thing the main thing, it doesn’t mean that I will go through a day without any hurts, without any problems, without any trials.
It means that I know I can overcome whatever obstacles come my way.
And when the main thing is the main thing in your life- when those “big words” are God, love, Jesus, and hope, you have that friend beside you.
I pray that each and everyone of you comes to wake up each morning with the main thing in mind is to keep the main thing the main thing.

Note from Emmy: Thanks so much Dylan for writing a guest post! I love that you mentioned Hebrews 12:2, one of my college professors used to tell us that verse everyday (several times a day!) and always reminded me to keep my focus on Christ.

- This made me laugh. But I LOVE IT!!!
