New York, New York - It's a Wonderful Town!

Love Drop is at it again! They just came back from the Indianapolis area where they dropped $2,500 worth of baby gifts on newborn triplets (they're so cute!!), and THIS month they're trying to round up the love for another mother who needs our help -- this time fighting against cancer for the 3rd time in 10 years.
Any of us in the same situation would probably use any extra money toward medical bills, so that's why this month we want to instead focus on giving Marci and family the gift of quality time together. Let's send them somewhere amazing and help them form memories that will last forever! We're looking for creative ideas this month... financial gifts too, but also anything that will help them escape together for a while.
Want to help Marci and her family from Fort Collins, Colorado out? Here are 3 ways:

  1. Give $1.00 - This money will help us give her some great quality time!
  2. Give a gift card - Gift cards are extremely helpful, especially to places that are national.
  3. Donate TRAVEL stuff - Airline miles, timeshare options, destination packages, etc. - whatever you have access to!
Thanks guys! You can reach the Love Drop team here anytime with questions: team (at) love drop (dot) us., or by checking them out at LoveDrop.us. Thanks everyone! We'll let you know how it goes!
One of the ideas we have been throwing around in the forums is sending them on a trip to New York City because Marci said that she would love to see a Broadway Musical (she's a woman after my own heart!). So if any of you have connections to the Big Apple - PLEASE let me know or email the Love Drop Team.

Besides... who WOULDN'T want an all expenses paid trip to NYC?

As Frank Sinatra and Gene Kelly said... "New York, New York, it's a wonderful town!"

But in all seriousness my friends, let's give Marci and her family something they can REALLY be thankful for this Thanksgiving.  All of us have been touched by cancer in some way shape or form - so we can all relate to Marci's story. Donate $1 if you can. A single dollar can change a life!

And as for my NaNoWriMo novel?

Word count so far: 21, 741

Excerpt of the day:

“I have heard it said that a boy becomes a man when he has his first kill,” Alvis said suddenly. It was now Myla's turn to be taken aback. She had not expected him to start making conversation with her. She was only a servant girl according to him. What business was it of hers what his thoughts were?
“If that is the case, I long for the days of being a child again. His eyes looked like Cadeyrn's. We gave them all proper burials, but I cannot get his eyes out of my mind.”
Myla's heart began to ache for him. She was not sure exactly what he was speaking of, but she could put the pieces together. He and his brother were both wounded, the travel party had been late in their arrival, the extra protection that had been placed around the castle. Prince Alvis and his brother had been attacked. Myla had assumed as much, but did not want to jump to conclusions before now. Apparently, Alvis had to kill during this attack. She had always heard tales of warriors and how proud they were of their victories on the battle field, as though the lives of their enemy were things to be thrown away. It was obvious this was not the case for Alvis. He had done what he had to to protect himself and the people around him, but it was a great burden for him to bear.
